What is HAVS?
HAVS, previously Vibration White Finger (VWF) is a complex condition with musculoskeletal, neurological and vascular components and is a secondary type of Raynaud’s phenomenon.
Magnitude, frequency, duration and transmission of vibration coupled with exposure time determine the severity of symptoms.
Individual assessment is made separately for each finger. Severity is graded using the internationally agreed Stockholm Workshop Scale which classifies the vascular and sensorineural components into the below tables.
