Independent Vascular Services has a 20-year experience of delivering vascular diagnostic ultrasound to the NHS and independent sector.
Ultrasound Quality Guaranteed
Unlike other ultrasound companies IVS specialises in the delivery of vascular diagnosis using the most up to date, highest quality ultrasound equipment. Our staff are highly trained life-science graduates with Post-graduate certificate in medical imaging and accreditation from the Society of Vascular Technology or GB and Ireland. We specialise in the diagnosis of vascular disease.
Not all results are the same!
Our results are highly regarded by consultants specialising in vascular disease, stroke and deep vein thrombosis. Consultants often request repeat investigations by IVS as they find the results of other providers unreliable. Accurate diagnosis by IVS can often avoid more expensive investigations such as CT and MR scans.
Flexible local services
IVS provides services at 15 NHS sites of which 9 are full time NHS sites and 4 independent hospitals across the North West.
Patients can request an appointment at one of our local centres at the time that suits you.
Types of investigations/treatments:
Carotid artery ultrasound – for patients who have had a suspected mini-stroke or strong family history of stroke/vascular disease.
Deep Vein Thrombosis ultrasound – has your leg or arm suddenly become swollen and tender to the touch? A simple ultrasound investigations can check for thrombosis.
Aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening – AAA screening is now provided on the NHS for all men aged 65 but if you have a close relation who has had an aneurysm diagnosed it is important to have an earlier check.
Cramping pains on exercise – if you suffer from leg pain on exercise may be due to narrowing of the arteries. A simple pain free ultrasound test can confirm or exclude artery disease and guide your GP to the correct treatment.
Varicose/Spider veins – do you have long term leg swelling/aching or visible varicose veins? There are now a range of ways to treat varicose veins without the need for open surgery.
It is essential you have a full ultrasound assessment of veins prior to treatment to select the optimum treatment of your veins. Poor diagnosis and inappropriate treatment can lead to early recurrence of varicose and spider veins.
We have developed a NEW SPECIALIST VARICOSE & SPIDER VEIN TREATMENT SERVICE with our partner Diagnostic Healthcare using state of the art Norseld dual yellow laser.
